When i'm laying in bed about to fall asleep I always have the best blog post ideas

..and then I fall asleep

I'm sitting here looking at my closet realizing

just how many stripes I own.

2 dresses

2 sweatshirts

2 sweaters

5 shirts

1 swim bottom

and 2 board shorts

... and those are just the ones I see

not to mention my socks which are almost 

ALL striped

But if i went shopping today,

I would probably buy more

The Weekend of Surprises!

Seriously though, we surprised my mom a few too many times this weekend.

But it was her BIRTHDAY! 

So first of all, she had no idea I was coming home

she thought I had to work.

So I came home Wednesday night after work 

and slept at my sisters house that night.

My mother came over the next morning,

I hid in my nieces closet,

my mom went up and I came out of the closet

SHE WAS IN SHOCK

...she even CRIED!

She loves me.

Then the next day,

(which was actually her birthday)

Kate and I threw her a surprise birthday party 

with her closest friends.

It was great!

at least we thought so:)

On a total off-topic-side-note

My straightener decided to quit on me and not hold heat

which meant I needed to search for a new one

get to the bottom of their chapstick before loosing it.

I think I will win.

But then again, I don't think I've even run out of a chapstick

done with season 3.

Great weather = less blogging... it's just how it goes so Deal With It!

Yesterday was a great sunny day so we packed up and headed to the water for a picnic at the park/beach. We order some Little Caesars and soaked up the sun. I even got my first t-shirt/shorts tan line (Courtney was pissed). We just have different skin tones, that's all. She works all summer for a tan line, and I walk outside for a bit and am reminded what I was wearing that day later in the shower. 


The summery weather continues and I have no idea why I am still sitting on the couch typing this!


Putting on a swim suit and sun dress and plopping myself into a comfy lawn chair to listen to some summer jams in the heat of summer:)

I had a slight cosmetics emergency and hustled over to the store and discovered the key to success. THIS dry shampoo. It's a spray instead of mouse-like. I am in love. Say hello to day two being as fun as day one.

CAUTION: BOYS, DON'T READ.. Seriously

I decided to take some time and post about the dreaded topic for girls 18+ in the Mormon college world.

Yes, I excluded it to only Mormon's because at BYU-I dating is a whole different spectrum.

(Note, this is just from my personal experience, data may vary depending on looks and charm)

First tip to upcoming freshman females-

At your first I-Night dance, you will most likely get asked for your number by more than one guy. 

One or more may be attractive and seem clever and charming.

DON'T LET FIRST IMPRESSIONS FOOL YOU!

The male species think they're awesome.

Little do they know.. we actually control most of what they do.

We also give them the ideas they have without them even knowing

this can be a great thing!

Next comes the classic Look, Hold, Turn Away.

Works like a charm.

look them right in the eyes, give it 3 seconds to show interest and not just passing gaze,

then LOOK AWAY!

Don't forget the look away step, you don't want awkward High School Musical flashbacks.

(If it works, the guy will be by your side in a few minutes, depending on courage)

If you know of a guy that is pleasing to the eye and you want to get a closer look,

here is a great way to be able to get to know them, without them knowing your intent.

First step:

Find where they live. (Sounds creepy, but it's key and will be great in the end)

Second, you go over (with or without a buddy), and you ask if they have any eggs.

If yes, ask to use them, and in return you tell them you'll give them some of the brownies you make.

If all goes as planned, you bring the brownies over later that night and they invite you in.

If they don't have eggs, make friendly conversation... and still give them the option of having brownies when you "find" some eggs. (Have backup material to make brownies in this case).

This is proven to work. My sister Kate told me about this one and I have knowledge through experience that it works a charm and so does she:)

Boys aren't very smart when it comes to us females.

We can manipulate them like nobody's beeswax and they will still take credit for the ideas.

If you do the look, hold, turn away,

they think it's their idea and it makes you seem "hard to get"

They also want things they can't have.

So don't be easy..

Easy girls are gross, and usually boys aren't interested after the first meet.

There you have it folks.. A little bit of advice from the girl who wears a fake engagement ring to work so I don't get the creepers anymore. I may be a little confident. But BOYS LIKE CONFIDENCE.

This morning when I woke up later than I was scheduled to, I yelled in my head "holy crap!" Where did that phrase come from? If you think about it, it is super weird to say holy poop all the time. There is no such thing! So why do we all say it? Why do we talk about poop so much? Humans are weird.

So is my art class.

I do believe that some clouds are better than others. Washington seems to hog all the good ones though. They are so light and fluffy!

I need to paint. I am taking an online art class right now (sounds silly I know) but I have to paint and then scan everything and post them in a discussion board. Scanning makes all my work look like crap, no matter what, the color gets messed up and I am too much of a perfectionist!
Other than that, I am enjoying this class. I really do love to paint (minus faces) and I am learning a lot from the book and tests.

I better go do it now while I still have my background music of my niece singing "Mother tell me a story.." because it's Mothers Day!

I love my mom. That is all there is to it.

Mom Week

While my mama was here, we went up to Canada to an indoor waterpark/ wavepool.

Waterproof Camera. CHECK!

 New mix up swim suit. flower top, stripe bottoms... CHECK!

I absolutely love to rock climb.
