The royal...

WEDDING.
Yes, everyone has been talking non-stop about it.

I think that is maybe why I had a dream that my good friend from Idaho proposed to me last night.
In my dream he gave me some ring options but the only ones were gold, and the cheap kind that you stretch to fit your finger. I was so upset.

Another possibility is that my sister was editing some engagement pics and Amanda (the engaged one) came over and we talked wedding talk. She thinks that the "Royal Wedding" is taking the spotlight away from her own wedding. Not Fair!

See this picture right here?
The two lovely ladies to the left are ALSO getting married this summer.
2/3 of our love triangle went off to college and found true loves.
I couldn't be happier for the two of them, their soon to be husbands are two lucky men. These girls are awesome. (but don't say I didn't deny when you said i was going to be the first to go... looks who's jumping on the marriage train now :)

As for me, I am not bitter one bit. I am not jealous because I know that the time is right for them. I wouldn't change the way my life is panning out because I absolutely love the times I am having in college. The friends I have made are priceless and I know that if I was in a constant relationship, I would miss out on a whole lot of the friends I have now. I still have some things I want to do before the man of my dreams pops the question, and I can't wait for year 2 of college.

I am excited to go back to school in Idaho...
1. My new apartment and roommates are going to be THEE BEST
2. My own bedroom.
3. To see my friends that I miss oh so much
4. I will have a rice cooker and won't have to burn or boil-over rice anymore
5. Having my own room, I will be able to make my own perfect schedule and go to bed when I want
6. I am GOING TO EXERCISE like crazy
7. My new apartment has a gym so I won't have to walk up to the main one or wear gym clothes
8. FREE LAUNDRY
9. and MONDAY NIGHT VOLLEYBALL!!!

What a beautiful mess

WOWZA! What a long day at work. However, I do have some fun photo's to share. My lovely sister let me borrow some of her lenses for my Canon and I played around a bit. I love trying new things!

With a wide angle, it is easy to accidentally get your feet in the picture.. or your whole body

my cute lil' nephew

..and niece

..and then came the lens baby
and I had to practice on something stationary..

probably one of the hardest lenses to use..

but i'm starting to get the hang of it..
Practice, practice, practice...

Weekend Update

It's not the weekend, but I had some fun last weekend so I need to tell you all about it.

First off, remember when I told you about jello fruit? Well kids, here they are. My jello-artist sister Kate made these. She cut various fruit in half, hallowed them out, filled them with jello, and once the jello was set, she cut them into slices.

They were strangely delicious and addicting...

...and these are maraschino-cherry-jello-drops... Kate INVENTED these, she is definitely about to mark history.
(The two were missing because I had to make sure they weren't poison)

Another item on the Easter treat list would be these bad boys:
I think I could eat the whole bag in one sitting. I HATE peeps, but these are DELICIOUS!! (my mouth is watering just thinking about them).

Then my lovely mother took me shopping and I got a whole bunch of new things to add to my closet including my grandma glasses... I'm in love.

"Mama said home is where the heart is"

NAME THAT SONG- It's one of my all time favorite bands

not to mention it is a true statement.
I found out I didn't have to work until Tuesday at 4 so I made the three hour journey home for Easter weekend.

I will post some pictures when I get back to my laptop, but heads up-- my sister Kate made some jello fruit. You aren't going to understand how awesome it is until I post the picture... anticipation.

Greetings from my lovely beach on the Puget Sound

Overkill with the fisheye

I got to go on an adventure with a fisheye lens tonight and it made me really happy. This might be an overload of pictures... but I love them, and you will too!

Some lens flare action-
I just really LOVE these flowers

And I love me some good shortened words

Did I mention I love these?

 ZOOM-ZOOM

 The bridge

Tonights sunset was gorgeous. It's starting to feel more and more like summer on days like today!

The knot

I tried out the knotted pony via The Beauty Department and I liked it! It stayed in surprisingly well and I even was laying in bed doing my online class and it didn't all fall out.

I did it a little messier than the one on the blog.

"Somebody" told me a couple days ago that this should be my theme song:

I am going to take that one as a compliment? Yepp i'll focus on the good things he's saying about the girl.

"She's as pretty as a picture
Every bit as funny as she is smart
Got a smile that'll hold you together
And a touch that'll tear you apart
When she's yours she brings the sunshine
When she's gone the world goes dark
Yeah she's heaven on the eyes
But boy she's hell on the heart"

Sorry boy who told me this... I know you're not reading this (which is a good thing) but I can't help that I wasn't that into you.

I believe in a thing called love

..and because of that, I need to learn self control this summer.
When your boss kindly tells you that whenever you're working and make extra of a milkshake or anything,
you can eat the leftovers. PLUS, you can make yourself anything you want.
OH! and "on your off days, if you come in, just go ahead and make yourself whatever you
want. as long as you clean up after yourself!"
Working in an Ice Cream shop, that means self control is KEY.

My other goal for the summer was to get back in prime shape.
This puts even a bigger emphasis on self control!
Yesterday I made the soft serve mix of vanilla and orange...
... so I HAD to try out the swirl to make sure it tasted good ;)
and somehow I ended up making a ton of strawberry milkshakes
so I HAD to keep adding the extra's to my strawberry milkshake i made for myself.

OKAY.. today I will be better. I Promise.

this is my favorite color of polish for my toes.
it works so great with everything. I got it at dELiA*s last summer.

I can't wait for the sun to come in strong so I can work off this Idaho white-ness!

I've been terrible at blogging lately because of the start of my new job! Turns out scooping ice cream was not the only thing I signed up for. Along with working in the shop and making beautiful ice cream cones, I also have to learn how to make the best milkshakes, soft serve, coffee (sounds easy, but for a girl who has never drank a cup of coffee or even been around it, there is a lot to learn), I get to re-stock all the milk and products in the fridge section, and I get to learn all the buttons on the cash register, and some other random physical labor projects. Turns out I have been whooped and blogging wasn't a priority.

HOWEVER!!! Courtney and I learned some photoshop magic and made this:

We really love it a lot. A little copy and paste never hurt anyone ;)

I really should get some sleep though, have fun messing with photoshop and make some beautiful things!

Sick-eee

During my frequent sneeze sessions and massive amounts of flow coming out my nose, I decided it was time to stop wiping my poor little nose with sandpaper Kleenex's. I hopped in my car and headed out to go find me some Puff Plus' (the ones with lotion):

After I watched this commercial, I tried draping the tissue over my nose like a hook (as they show in the video)... Nothing. Is this false advertising? I think in order to get the lotion you have to actually blow your nose in it. Last time I checked my nostrils were under, as opposed to the top of my nose.

While I was on my adventure I stopped at Albertsons to get:

  • Lotion Kleenex's
  • Cold Medicine
  • & Yogurt (For a smoothie tonight)
Turns out Albertsons has a small shelf of cold medicine right next to the gigantic wall of eye medicines. In my mind a cold was a whole lot more common than eye problems, but who am I to know. They didn't even have alka seltzer (day and night pills which are my favorite). So I moseyed back to the car and headed to Safeway.  Thank goodness Safeway has everything! I got all of the above items without trouble (minus standing in front of all the tissues thinking that Puff's was the only brand with lotion, which they didn't have... but Kleenex makes them too so no worries!)

Time to plop myself on the couch, catch up on ANTM and Deadliest Catch, take my drowsy medicine, and fall into a deep sleep :)

I'm going to see Soul Surfer tomorrow.. Has anyone seen it yet? I'm pretty excited!

Spring Shopping

Being back in the great northwest has caused some type of allergy or flu of some kind that I am not too fond of right about now. On the bright side, I went with my mom and sister to the Tacoma Mall this morning--which may I add has an H&M AND a FOREVER21 that used to be the Nordstrom--imagine how huge that is.

So this is what I found:  (Excuse the mirror I need to Windex)

 Shirt & Belt- H&M

I'm in love with this bow belt!

Heels- FOREVER21, last pair in the entire store MY SIZE :)

Another H&M shirt

Yes, this is the one. The H&M bracelet I bought at Christmas-time that I lost somewhere at BYU-Idaho taking off my pea coat. They still had it! Once again, LAST one in the whole store!!! I'm so happy, I may have cried a little when I realized I had lost it. But all is well again!

You know those times when you have a faucet nose and no matter how many times you blow it, you just don't ever feel satisfied? I think I need some Puff Tissues with lotion in them.

I must get better by Saturday. I think it will happen!

Opportunities

A & D are MARRIED!!!!

I got to take some pictures at their reception which reminds me.. Do any of my fellow blogger friends want to buy a basically brand new (no scratches, nothing wrong, prefect condition) Canon Rebel XS digital SLR camera? I want to upgrade so I am trying to sell her. It's a great camera and I only got t last summer, I just feel like if I really want to get better, I should get a better camera.

I've only edited a few of them, but here are my favorites so far:
