Giving myself Assignments

When you're waiting for a baby, you remember old homework assignments to keep busy.

Then you get this in the mail and get excited that you're done with school!

Baby Room 2.0

 The big problem I have with decorating a nursery is the fact that we will be moving just about two/three months after the baby is born and about two weeks before we jet to Hawaii. We have a lot of things that don't belong in that room that we just don't have space to put anywhere else! Marrying a man with a garage full of tools and gear and moving into an apartment without a garage (but a little shed out back) wasn't the ideal situation for my OCD and nesting issues, BUT i'm happy we have a roof over our heads and at least an extra bedroom to put our child in!

This was my project for the day. I cut out scrapbook paper in elephants, giraffes, and whales while watching Laguna Beach. Taped them to some yellow embroidery floss. Pinned the top and put a little sticky tack on the bottom to pull them tight and straight. Viola!

This is not at all how I imagined my nursery decorating to unfold but I'm kind of liking the complete randomness! Plus I don't feel obligated to pursue the same arrangements when we move because all the wall decorations are hand made or re-purposed from an old craft, I didn't buy any of it!Cha Ching!

Baby Room

My mom and sisters came for a visit yesterday and brought me the last of all the baby supplies. It's getting more real now because I have everything I need and now the only thing left is the infant. Literally, the only thing left. Here is a few pics of the room. The crib was going to be perfect with cute bumpers and a crib skirt, but I gave up. I couldn't find any I loved and I am getting over a cold and not in the mood for a big sewing project. Maybe later, maybe for the next child, maybe never...

Project Life 365

I've been having a hard time committing to anything that involves the future lately. I blame the little one who we do not know when will decide to make his big debut into this world. I mentally cannot plan for anything after that moment. There are so many possibilities that I cannot make any life decisions. I did however decide that my life needs more photography. I was thinking back on my photography class and how much I miss having tons of photo's to edit all the time and a purpose or theme for taking them. It's hard for me to just take photo's when I don't have a project or reason. When my sister started PL365 I thought it was a fabulous idea but got scared because I couldn't take on such a long challenge when a baby is about to rock my world. Then I decided it couldn't hurt and if I didn't do one every day or even make it 365, who cares right? I also was remembering my film photography class and how fun it was to develop black and white photo's and edit them using only the basics. That was my inspiration for this project and I'm having a lot of fun already!
