Some days I just have a lot to say

So I get excited and post twice. But The first one was just a deed that had to be done so this one i'm considering my nightly post.

Speaking of nights.. This was the gorgeous 50 degree hot spell that occurred tonight. It was so nice outside!! There was a slight breeze but it (for once) wasn't freezing. So Kyla and I got on our swim suits and ran through the sprinklers.
..Well actually we put on our sweatshirts and went for an evening stroll until it was dark. But hey, at least we didn't have to put on our coats.

Another sad loss in our apartment. We finally took her and softly set her in the dumpster for the next pick up so she can go on and start a new journey.
If you can see our favorite fun-house mirror is now cracked in a billion places. I was told that it was found just laying on the ground.. but I think "someone" was pulling a Snow White and it couldn't handle reflecting the unfortunate white child. (By the way, this happened when I was in California.. so it was definitely not me).

Tag Wars?

I love getting new followers, especially the ones I only know virtually. With my newly found blogger friends I was seeing a tag game going around.. and guess who was tagged.. Yes indeed ladies and gents, yours truly. I feel like I am now an official blogger! This last month has been a blogging explosion.

So here is what must be done.
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link them back to your post
2. Tell seven things about yourself
3. Award to 15 new bloggers
4. Contact these new bloggers and let them know they have received this award.

So a special shout out is in need here for a new virtual friend Juhee@Pages of Me I love when fellow bloggers follow you back :)

Seven things about myself? Yikes! Well...

1. I currently am in college and live off of penne noodles and alfredo sauce
2. Volleyball is my first true love but Rock Climbing has recently been fighting for the spot
3. I worked on a farm last summer and am working in an ice cream shop with my roommate this summer:)
4. I want to get a rip stick (or longboard) so I can go on adventures with my Tennessee homeskillet Morgan
5. I now can say that I drive a Red Mazda 6 which has definite bragging rights
6. I love BYU-Idaho (except the intense encouragement on dating and marriage including the statement that our first priority at this school is to find a spouse)
7. && My grandmother thinks I have 2 boyfriends

I think that for this next challenge I am going to name the people I think should start a blog..
Kyla-- So that I am not the only nerd
Amber-- You just need to actual post instead of annual updates
Liz--You are hilarious and I would religiously read your blog (and learn about Dracula)
Nicole--So you could secretly share your thoughts not on facebook
Ryan-- Make a blog thats not about Korea
Zach-- You could make an obsessive rock climbing blog
Jordan-- You could make a music blog with your lyrics
umm fifteen is kind of a lot..

I really want some pajama jeans.. They work great with sandals or sneakers! $39.95 and with the added bonus tv offer they will add a great crew neck fashion-t to complete the outfit.

Have a Beachy day!

studying for Finals

This is what Kyla and I do while studying for finals;

Yeah pretty much can't wait! We get to work in the Ice Cream shop together ALL SUMMER :) Plus I will be driving the red Mazda 6. We're going to be the attention suckers of the singles ward with all this going for us. Basically summer is in one week, my parents are coming up in less than one week, and I will be out of school for FIVE MONTHS!!!!!!

love is all you need

.midnight. shake face. webcam. horror doll. creepy.
So we found out that shake face pictures look even creepier using a webcam. Doesn't this look like one of those dolls from the island of misfit toys? This is what happens at midnight, when you want to take a new profile picture, and you end up laughing so hard tears are streaming, and you end up looking ugly, so you try and use black & white to make yourself a little bit more attractive then you actually are.

Thoughts of Summer

I just can't wait! Warm weather, boating, Washington, water, sun, our beach, family, country music, fun pictures, good home-cooked meals, working in the ice cream shop with Kyla, and staying out late in a t shirt and shorts and coming home smelling like campfire:) THEE BEST EVER

Oh and actually being tan again..

Back in the Iceburg

Welcome back to Rexburg Mallory!

This is my other adorable niece Emree. She sports a light blue aquarium-style pacifier that she can use backwards and with no hands! She truly is talented.

Laying in bed

..and this is what I came up with;

Can you guess what song I was listening to!?

Indecisive Header & a sun shiny day!

This is the one, and i'm not going to change it again... today.

Recently switching to a graphic design major has got my creative juices flowing! I think I created a header that will last longer than the average life span of headers on my blog though.

(my adorable niece)

On the other hand...
Today is a beautiful sunshine filled day! Thank goodness the snow yesterday didn't stick. I guess snow then warmth is considered a Rexburg spring? Well I like it as long as it's not all snow.

and on the other hand...
Today has been disgusting. I hate the feeling you get right before you throw up. I would rather lick a toilet seat than throw up, it is the absolute worst! When I got home, I had that feeling :/ I striped all my layers and school junk all over my bedroom floor and slid into my blankets with the window open and the fan cranking. I tried to fall asleep but paranoid of the upchuck feeling. The good news; I didn't puke and my room smells like spring because of the open window and fan in it. The bad news; the feeling is still there, I am at the awkward stage of not knowing whether to eat because my stomach hurts but I don't want to risk eating and seeing it shortly after.

This is one of those moments when you just want to be laying on your couch at home with your mommy there to take care of you and hold your hair when you spew.

Update from previous post

Well, it's unanimous... Amber should have used Mallory's pencil.

When Amber got home she came into my bedroom and curled up on the end of my bed like a little kitten and said these exact words; "Worst test ever." Inside all I could think was "Well, should have chose the right pencil CTR." She had chosen the wrong.

In our grief, we loaded into the car and headed for the Cocoa Bean.. Yes, we went out an ate our sorrows in cupcakes and frozen strawberry mango lemonades.

Better luck next time Amber, you can use my pencil anytime ;)

Check out the awesome stuff in my hair!!

Mallory Vs. Kyla

Kyla always wins.
    for instance:

As we were sitting on the third floor of the new BYUI-Center, Amber Merrill needed a pencil to go take her test that she has been so vigorously studying for. Mallory being the kind, tender-hearted person that she is offered to let Amber take her stunning sea-glass green mechanical pencil to the testing center (after already having brought Amber her I-card from home which she accidentally forgot). Mallory thought she was on such a great streak with her new found friend Amber. I mean first bringing her I-card, and now lending her pencil! Without Mallory, there was no way Amber would have been able to take her test. She would have had to walk all the way back to our apartment in the blizzard snow and wind and chance missing the deadline for her test. Mallory was the superhero.
THEN.. suddenly Kyla jumps into the situation. She forcefully pushes her #2 wooden pencil into Ambers hands right before Mallory has the chance to get her incredible lucky pencil out. Amber takes the pencil with gratitude and completely ignores Mallory's gentle offer.

Now we sit here, waiting for Amber to get back, waiting to see how the pencil was, waiting for her to tell us that the pencil had broken and she had no way to sharpen it, waiting for a horrible story, waiting to know that if she would have taken my pencil- she would have aced her test. But no, she chose to kick it old school and go all Tichondaroga on us.

Glittified

Glitter makes everything better. I would glitter everything if it weren't so messy. I do however love glittering my toe nails. Put clear nail-polish on and just dump glitter while it's still wet. LOVE IT!! I did blue glitter for my sister right before she went into the hospital to give birth to her adorable little boy :)
Since I love it so much I decided one day that I would give it its own photoshoot. So I did, and there it is, and it made me happy.

THE END.

Optimism is key?

This morning I woke up to the sound of the Dixie Chicks telling the cowboy to take me away. One of those old songs you forget about but then fall in love with all over again. I look out the cracked blinds and saw the SUN! Yes.. the big "yellow" thing in the sky with no clouds blocking the way. Now that is one way to wake up in a chipper mood! So I got all excited and decided I wasn't wearing boots and I was going to bust out my flats. The snow is still here in places, but for the most part I am starting to see grass. I put on my optimistic outfit and was about to head out the door. (excuse the mirror that is in desperate need of Windex)
Shortly after stepping outside, I realized I was still in Rexburg, and went back in to grab my coat. At least I tried right? I mean it is a whole 42 degree's outside! I should be in a swimsuit laying out. I have adapted to well to this Rexburg chill and am starting to get excited for the days it is just above freezing.

I feel like I have been gabbing a lot about weather lately. So, on a happier note...
In the mornings when I can't decide what to do with my hair, I just go here..
Courtney and I have a pinterest board that we add some great hair ideas to. If you notice in the picture above, I have some sweet braids going on.. yepp I got that idea from there!

Should I wear a jacket today?

This is the greatest invention of a website EVER.
doineedajacket.com
You type in the city, and it lets you know if you should wear a jacket!
it then lets you know why!
Great.. I know

A tribute to the CB

The Cocoa Bean is by far the best cupcake shop in the world. It deserves its own post.
Reasons I love the CB:
1. spur of the moment cupcake cravings are fulfilled here
2. red velvet.. enough said
3. cream cheese frosting
4. they are big
5. the steeme hot chocolates are delish
6. they deliver to the MTC
7. I have a punch card and can now get a free drink
8. free wi-fi.. not that I really care, but they have a sign outside saying it so I thought it was important
9. they have a deal for a cupcake and a drink
10. free cupcake making schedules saying which flavors they are making each day (one is on our fridge)

Reasons I should not go:
1. They are fatty
2. They are delicious
3. I want to try every flavor
4. They are pricey
5. they taste so good
6. && I will eat too many
This was their valentines day special of Red Velvet.. yepp, everything I had ever dreamed of.

Art Major

Being an Art major is requiring me to take a whole bundle of Art History classes.  What we're learning is extremely interesting but at the beginning i was thinking it was a mistake to take Art History I and Medieval Art the same semester. I am memorizing the name, artist, and era for about 40 paintings and sculptures for EACH class. Insanity! Not to mention the fact that they are "art" so just about every man in the book is naked. They all look very similar so you REALLY have to take a good look. Blechhh.. Just when I thought my brain was going to shift into overload, a miracle happened. For my Art History class, the last two sections are going over the Islamic and Early Christian era's, therefore; I already know all of the art because those were the last section of my Medieval Art class!!!! I have never been so happy to see the title of a section be Medieval in my entire life.
In Rexburg, today is a bit of a gloomy grey day. It made me a little happy to see a slight drizzle rather than a snow drift up against my window. It makes me even more excited to go back home for the summer.. IN FOUR WEEKS!!!
IDAHO vs. WASHINGTON?
Washington wins ANY DAY!!! I am not a big fan of the land-locked-ness

Sunday, March 13, 2011

my dearest washington..

How I miss you...
I cannot WAIT to see you in 4 weeks!!!
I hope you rain for me.. a lot
but then lets go on a nice long boat ride.. (ohh daddy!!)
oh and don't worry Brooklyn, we will have so much fun!!! i miss you to bits!
and maybe then can I take better pictures, of things not frozen, or snow, or grass, or tractors...

Cold Weather

He said I wanna see you again
But I'm stuck in colder weather
Maybe tomorrow will be better
Can I call you then
She said you're a ramblin' man
And you ain't ever gonna change
You got a gypsy soul to blame
And you were born for leavin'(born for leavin')

Well it's a winding road
When your in the lost and found
You're a lover I'm a runner
And we go 'round 'n 'round
And I love you but I leave you
I don't want you but I need you
You know it's you that calls me back here baby

Two Birds On A Wire

I was listening to the newest Regina Spektor CD and came across the song 'Two Birds' and I really liked what I heard! This video isn't her, but it is the song, and I enjoyed their interpretation of the song.

So living up to my nickname of Art Major in the apartment, I decided to let myself be inspired by the song and use my canvas (that I spray painted black a while back). I was going to use the black one for a different project but I knew that the birds would pop so much better on black. Here is the finished product as of right now:

I think I may add some words a little later, but I really just love my birds on a wire!

I made the birds out of colored cardstock, and the "wire" is made out of some extra hemp string I had laying around. I didn't have any massive staples to staple it to the canvas so I just super-glued it! Works great.

This is where it is hanging in my room. Right next to Cory Monteith;) and above my barrier of blankets and pillows.

One quote to rule them all..

This quite possibly could be my favorite quote of all times. It is so true unfortunately:

"I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism."

canvas

I finally decided to use my white canvas that has been sitting on my shelf.
and of course.. there is glitter!!

a song that makes me feel good should get it's lyrics on a canvas.

Mumford & Sons addict

I have been listening to this melodic band all day. Some days you just have to plug in the little white buds and tune out everything else. Today is definitely one of those days..
