With a little help from my friends..

My desktop background :)

Mumford & Sons

How fickle my heart and how woozy my eyes
I struggle to find any truth in your lies
And now my heart stumbles on things I don't know
This weakness I feel I must finally show

Lend me your hand and we'll conquer them all
But lend me your heart and I'll just let you fall
Lend me your eyes I can change what you see
But your soul you must keep, totally free

I now love the word FICKLE

New

This morning (or afternoon) when I woke up, I decided to just take this day for myself. No commitments, no priorities, no plans, and no homework. I got in the shower, painted my nails, and pampered myself!

I read a blog post by my favorite photographer Daniel Usenko which inspired me a whole lot. The ending words were fabulous! READ IT.

I think it's time to listen to music, and make a new header (mines too big right now) and design for my blog, I'm bored with it.

Battle Wounds

I went rock climbing last night..

The first time up the wall, I was trying to improve and do a more difficult route than normal, and halfway up there was a point where you had to cross your left leg between you and the wall- bending your knee to step on a hold. Then you had to step up on your left leg and jump a little for the next hand-hold. I jumped, slipped off the hold, and my left knee hit a pointed hold on the way down. I was top roping so I only fell about two feet, but of course this is was the outcome:

My poor little left knee..

BUT! Of course I didn't say anything, I played it off tough. and didn't look at it until I got home. I also kept climbing the rest of the night which probably wasn't too smart since I am currently laying on my bed and it's throbbing.. You can't tell in the picture but it's a bump and pretty swollen. It's worse today actually.
When I fell I just wanted to scream "FREEEAAKKK!!"

But I was with a group of guys, so I couldn't..

Word of the week

Sitting in "Origins of the Universe" is where my most creative ideas are born. This class gives me the opportunity for my mind to wander in so many directions. Somehow talking about wasting billions of dollars on how to make a ball point pen work in space (what was wrong with a pencil?) just isn't capturing my full attention. I've decided to make a wall that I will pin up a new word (that I would actually use) each day.. or maybe once a week. Watching the movie "Easy A" made me want to expand my vocabulary using ridiculous words that come up in everyday situations, but that are not common. I want to be able to spew out witty banter and use words that my fellow college students don't understand.

Another note: I think scientists are wasting so much money finding things out.. for the sake of finding things out. I mean stars are great, and it would be fun to live out there like in Star Wars.. but whatever happened laying on a blanket looking at the stars and just marveling at them, instead of trying to fill my brain with useless information that will not help me in my future which I will memorize for the test, and forget immediately.

Back to the slightly dodgey movie "Easy A." The movie is hilarious! The plot is immoral, but the whit is outstanding. Here are a few of my favorite most memorable quotes:

Mr. Griffith: I don't know what your generation's fascination is with documenting your every thought... but I can assure you, they're not all diamonds. "Roman is having an OK day, and bought a Coke Zero at the gas station. Raise the roof." Who gives a..?"

Olive Penderghast: Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80's movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80's movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life"

Woodchuck Todd: [in Woodchuck costume carrying head] Hey Olive.
Olive Penderghast: Oh my Goodness! The illusion is shattered! This is exactly why they put you in the gas chamber if you take your head off at Disney World.
Woodchuck Todd: Actually I think they just, you know, they fire you. You're thinking of Disneyland. Disney World is much more liberal.
Olive Penderghast: Oh yeah! I always forget Disney World went blue in the last election.

There are many more but they aren't as funny if you don't see them on screen.

MAN this class is taking forever! I understand everything completely, it's not like i'm skipping out.. but he keeps explaining everything over and over and over.. WE GET IT!! Sir Hubble is amazing, give him a pat on the back and move on!

Now that I have completely vented.. I think it's time to go home and do something creative. Maybe paint my canvas I have.
Rock Climbing for free tonight! and I finally got my Co-ed volleyball team together and strong! Woo Hoo!

(My roommates have been obsessed with watching Gossip Girl lately "You know you love me, xoxo, Gossip Girl")
can you say CORNY? DRAMA?
I'll leave you with the sum of my Art History Class^

The Latest..

My favorite rock climbing gym had a contest for a sticker/logo design. I took about 15 minutes of my spare time and came up with this:
I looked at the other competitors and figured it wouldn't take much so I actually didn't try too hard. Turns out I am pretty awesome and won!!!
This is what I wanted to do the moment I found out I won... the prize was a YEARs pass for FREE climbing! Seriously the best prize I could get right now!
